Just wanted to play some guitar
Last night was quite the fiasco in the recording studio. While trying to lay down a couple acoustic guitar tracks Ben Goldstein (my producer, drummer) and I found ourselves moving around into three different rooms in the music building. We were booted from the live room on the third floor, because someone had booked a session in there, ooops. The control room as too loud as someone was playing drums next door, and we dont want drums in the acoustic guitar tracks. after almost getting killed by a falling sound blocker we moved into the basement and found a vacant classroom. set up a moble rig and got two tunes done! very cool vibe. ended the night with a steak dinner at 12 am. i love being a musician.

I'm 21 today!, and I want to talk about one of my favorite things- Beer. Here's a few of my favorite brands, stuff that I think everyone should check out.
Guinness Extra Stout. (Ireland)
The most full bodied stout I have ever tasted, its almost like cold black coffee with a kick. This is a must pour beer, lots of aroma, carbonation and head that needs to be released. Enjoy this one on a somewhat empty stomach, its got as many carbs as half a loaf of bread in one 12 oz bottle. Pour this bad boy into a tall or tulip glass, drink it cold or if your feeling ambitious serve just below room tempature.
Shipyard Export. (USA, Maine)
If you are a fan of bitter old fashioned ales this is your drink. I like to think of it as Sam Adams Boston Ale without the price tag. This ones good in or out of the bottle, drink it cold. Shipyard is a good representation of a British ale, brewed right here in the USA. In terms of flavor this one is pretty simple, hoppy and bitter, the way beer should taste.
Anchor Steam Beer, (USA, California)
Straight out of San Fransisco this beer is truly one of a kind. Its a bit more expensive than the typical college budget but well worth it. A mixture of sharp carbonation, excellent smell and color make this American lager good either out of the bottle or poured in a tall glass. I've always found this brand particurally refreshing- something usually lacking in most beers. When it gets a bit colder, the Anchor brewing company will re release its Christmas brew, an incredible seasonal that actually smells and tastes like the holidays. no joke.
Grolsch (Holland, The Netherlands)
Don't let the color of this big bad bottle fool you, Grolsch remains the best "green" beer on the planet in my opinion, and that of my father as well; who is actually the one responsible for getting me hooked on this one. With the look of a European pilsner, and the taste of a lager, and the feeling somewhere in between, what ever it is this dutch beauty is smooooth. this beer is simply incredible- it does not break the bank either. Drink cold either right from the cool ass bottle, or pour into a tall glass. Grolsch is great pairing with food, epically sea food!
St Peters Organic English Ale (UK)
A truly one of a kind ale, And its organic! My sister bought be a pint of this on my 19th birthday, and I have been searching it out every chance I've gotten after that. This ale contains alot of sediment, which is an important part of the head, so If you get your hands on this one make sure of one thing- you pour it! be sure to end with the bottle vertical over the glass, so all of that great aroma causing hoppy sediment is the first thing you taste. This beer is bitter bitter bitter, and if you love english ales like me you will love this one. Cool bottle too!
Well thanks for checking out a few of my favorite brews, hopefully you will get a chance to try some of them sometime, enjoy.

Announcing the my second solo recording!
Hey everyone,
I guess I should put it in writing, I'm Doing another record! I have been rehearsing with the rhythm section for about the last month and its finally coming together. Here's what I can share with you now, Its going to have 9-10 tunes, a few solo, a full with a full rockin band, and a few somewhere in between. As far as musicians go, We'll be hearing from the wonderful Clay Wilson on upright and electric bass, the fantastic Ben Goldstein on drums and percussion, and I'll be handling the guitars and vocals. There will be other musicians, yet to be determined. Recording begins in early November, and we're looking way down the road at a spring/summer release. Thats all I can tell ya so far, but stay tuned, I'm planning on posting a couple videos of me playing a couple tunes from the album, so there ya go! Im really excited about it, and suprisingly to me so are a lot of other people. I've been asked a few times since "you dont have to be scared" came out when my next solo effort would be coming, well, its official, its coming.

Ryan Adams cover
Figured I'd start out the posting with a video I did this summer. Its of the Ryan Adams tune "Oh my sweet Carolina" off of his album "Heartbreaker" great tune, great album, check it out if you have not already. The sound quality if off my mac, so its not anything impressive, enjoy the song.
